Pugnetti Park in downtown Tacoma will reopen at about 2 p.m. today, according to a WSDOT press release.
The park was fenced off Feb. 26, after Occupy Tacoma protesters were evicted from it. The fence came down today, but a sign with regulations went up.
Those new rules address some of the liability concerns that led WSDOT to close the park in the first place, organization spokesman Steve Pierce said.
WSDOT owns the park, but had been looking for a buyer last month, saying it wasn’t in the park business.
The area is dedicated to former News Tribune editor Don Pugnetti.
