Lawmakers have ‘broad agreement to a deal’

That’s according to Gov. Chris Gregoire’s spokesman, Cory Curtis. “They’ve reached broad agreement to a deal,” he said.

But there’s a big caveat: there are “some issues remaining to be worked out,” Curtis said. He wouldn’t go into specifics. Gregoire still hopes for lawmakers to finish tonight, he said.

Finishing all the paperwork by midnight could be tough. One possibility is that Gregoire could call a special session that begins immediately and that lawmakers would keep working through the night.
