Long-time Tacoma attorney Stan Rumbaugh has announced a run for an open seat on the Pierce County Superior Court.

Rumbaugh is a member of the boards of Bates Technical College and the Tacoma Housing Authority.

“I am excited to bring balance, independence and the perspectives of families and working people to the Court,” Rumbaugh said in a news release. “I believe that the doors of our courts should be open and accessible to all, and I’ll bring that important commitment to the Superior Court bench.

Rumbaugh two years ago ran unsuccessfully against incumbent James Johnson for Johnson’s seat on the state Supreme Court.
