Subtract one from the list of potential candidates to replace U.S. Rep. Norm Dicks, who announced yesterday he is retiring at the end of this term.

Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist told Jordan Schrader yesterday that he was not ruling it out a run for Congress.

The Democrat later reconsidered. This afternoon on Facebook, Lindquist posted happy birthday wishes for his wife, Chelsea, with this message: “Happy birthday, Chelsea! Two gifts: something silver in the robin egg blue box, and I’m not running for Congress. Life is good.”
