Budgets taking shape; revenue report due at 10

A recent caseloads report may spare state lawmakers some $340 million in expenses – about two-thirds of what Gov. Chris Gregoire hoped to raise with temporary sales tax proposal she floated last November. More news is due today [click here after 10 a.m.] in the quarterly state revenue forecast. Gov. Chris Gregoire says she is expecting a “flat” forecast, which she describes as good news after a series of negative forecasts since 2008 took away billions of dollars in expected revenues.
