The Washington Toxics Coalition released a report today showing harmful flame retardants no longer used in kids’ pajamas are showing up in toys. The report, linked here, is being released at a press conference at the Capitol this morning.

Democratic Sen. Sharon Nelson of Vashon Island and Democratic Rep. Mary Lou Dickerson of Seattle plan to introduce legislation outlawing the use of the chemicals in products intended for use by children. The so-called “Tris” retardants are linked to cancer and genetic mutations, the coalition says.
