By the middle of next month, T.C. Broadnax could be managing the City of Tacoma.
Tacoma City Attorney Elizabeth Pauli said Tuesday her office is now in the midst of negotiating an employment contract with the San Antonio assistant city manager, and the talks are moving along steadily.
“We don’t see any significant issues at this point,” said Pauli, adding the city is working with a consultant to iron out final contract details with Broadnax. “We’re still negotiating, but the potential start date is mid-February.”
The City Council selected Broadnax, 42, as Tacoma’s next city manager from a group of three finalists who were still vying for the job on Dec. 20. Following the vote, Broadnax said he was humbled by the council’s decision and looks forward to working in Tacoma.
