House panel rejects GOP budget revisions

Democrats in the House Ways and Means Committee resisted efforts to add amendments to the $480 million budget-gap-closure bill today. Every amendment from Republicans failed to get enough votes to get out of committee.

Eventually, the underlying House Bill 2058 passed on a 24-to-1 vote with two members absent this morning. Republican Rep. Bill Hinkle of Cle Elum cast the lone no vote.
