One hundred fifteen mayors have signed a letter sent Wednesday to Gov. Chris Gregoire calling her proposals for ending state sharing of liquor taxes and profits “simply unacceptable.”
Read my story on the mayors’ lobbying effort.
There are roughly 280 mayors in Washington. Among the signers are Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn, Tacoma Mayor Marilyn Strickland, and the mayors of Lakewood, Puyallup, Federal Way, Gig Harbor, Lacey, Olympia, University Place, Fife, Bonney Lake, Sumner, Buckley, Auburn, Steilacoom, South Prairie, Enumclaw, DuPont, Black Diamond and Roy.
