Second bidder for liquor warehouse contract

The state got two bids for contracting out the distribution of liquor, as I reported Tuesday. One is Tom Luce’s Washington Beverage Company.

Now we know the name of the second bidder: The governor’s budget office says it’s Washington State Beverage Logistics LLC.

That doesn’t give much insight into which company or companies are behind the bid. The other companies listed as showing up for a pre-bidding conference haven’t returned my calls.

The bids aren’t subject to release under the law that called for the competition, the budget office says.

Bids will be evaluated this month.
