A new version of the plan for settlements in the state worker’s compensation system has emerged, Manuel Valdes of The Associated Press reports.
House leaders have refused to hear SB 5566, a bill passed by the Senate. Moderate Democrats have been working to come up with a new proposal that can break the logjam.
An amendment to the bill brought forward today is signed by eight centrist Democrats: Reps. Chris Hurst of Enumclaw, Troy Kelley of Tacoma, Larry Seaquist of Gig Harbor, Kathy Haigh of Shelton, Fred Finn of Thurston County, Deb Eddy of Kirkland, Dean Takko of Longview and Judy Clibborn of Mercer Island.
