Malloy is retiring from his District 3, Position 1 seat at the end of the year. The primary election is Aug. 16.

He served aboard the guided missile destroyer USS Arleigh Burke as a sonar technician, according to the biography.
His political experience includes work as a campaign coordinator and adviser to Republican Dino Rossi and as a legislative assistant in the Legislature. His community activities include service on the board of the Puyallup/Sumner Chamber of Commerce and as a City of Puyallup Planning Commissioner, his resume says
He and his wife, Meridith, have one child, 6-month-old Henry.
