More big protests are scheduled at the Capitol today.

Unions from around the state are planning a rally that could bring 5,000 people to the capitol to protest state budget cuts. The event, which follows the arrest of 17 protesters who tried to storm the governor’s office yesterday, will be the fourth in a series of daily rallies on the Capitol Campus calling on legislators to repeal tax exemptions.

The group is scheduled to rally on the Capitol steps at noon.

Both the House and Senate are scheduled for floor session most of the day, starting around 10 a.m. Legislators will probably bring up the House budget proposal that passed out of committee Wednesday, House Bill 1087, for amendments, but will have to wait until Saturday to vote on the measure.
