Reps. Bruce Dammeier and Hans Zeiger will talk to constituents at a town hall meeting this Saturday in Puyallup.

The Republicans represent the 25th Legislative District in Pierce County, including Puyallup and South Hill and parts of Eastside Tacoma, Fife, Edgewood, Milton, Midland and Summit.

The meeting runs from noon- 1 p.m. at the downtown Puyallup Library. Here’s what lawmakers had to say about it in a news release:

The 25th District lawmakers will take questions from the public and provide updates on the legislative session that is scheduled to run through April 24.

“A lot has happened in the Legislature these last few weeks, and important decisions on the economy, budget and education will be before state lawmakers soon. It is a great time for constituents to be involved in the legislative process and I look forward to the dialogue,” said Dammeier, R-Puyallup. “I encourage folks to come out and contact us if they have any questions.”

“The job of a legislator is to listen,” said Zeiger, R-Edgewood. “I want to hear from neighbors about their concerns and priorities. We need as much input as possible as we work to balance the budget.”

I do not know where to begin with this “press release”. But, I will try. First, Bruce, seems to not be part of the issues before the, “state lawmakers”. Bills have been introduced, debated, etc and at this point, dear constituent, your input is pretty much meaningless unless it makes you feel better. As for Hans, his duty at this point is to have the guts to legislate – that is his job. The “listening” came long ago. From both, wonderful but meaningless verbiage. I might add the same applies to the other wonderful folks representing “us”. Cheers.

  3. Wow… they’re listening for one whole hour. What a treat.

I love these guys but we need to give them the majority in the house to see what they can do. The dems rule for now and they are ruining this state with their policies. All the R’s can do is say no. But I consider that doing their job.

I have been to Olympia and seen how the R’s don’t even get invited to sit at the table. Wake up WA and see what one party rule is doing to you.
