Budget deal: cuts K-12, but spares BHP, disability cash grants

A supplemental budget deal is all but announced at the Legislature today. State Senate Republican Leader Mike Hewitt says it could go to a floor vote as soon as Friday.

Majority Democrats in the House and Senate reached agreement on key pieces of the plan to bridge part of the state’s remaining $566 million deficit through June, according to Republican leaders who held their weekly meeting with Capitol reporters today.
