Pierce County’s 25th District race between Democratic incumbent Rep. Dawn Morrell and Republican challenger Hans Zeiger is one of three statewide races headed for recounts, according to The Associated Press.

Zeiger leads Morrell by 47 votes, close enough to require a hand recount. Democratic incumbent Sen. Randy Gordon trails Republican challenger Steve Litzow by 194 votes in King County’s 41st District, and in Whatcom County’s 42nd District, Republican challenger Vincent Buys leads Democratic incumbent Rep. Kelli Linville by 154 votes.

Regardless of the outcome, Democrats will maintain majorities in the both the House and Senate.

It will be interesting to see if Julie Anderson can come up with some ballots that were somehow misplaced and miraculously “discovered” in some obscure corner of the elections HQ or someone’s trunk. There is surely an “unnoticed” bag somewhere with a couple hundred votes and, behold, they break 3:1 for Ms Morrell.

  5. So, Sagachious – were you just as concerned when Bush stole the election? Doubt it.
