She could have said ‘My dad does not approve this message’

Madeleine McKenna, president of the University of Washington student body and daughter of Republican Attorney General Rob McKenna, led off the ceremonies welcoming President Obama to UW and saluted “two great leaders,” Obama and Murray.

Her politics differ a bit from her dad’s.

“We’re going to send Patty Murray back to the Senate,” she told the crowd.

She said UW students would help “prove the cynics wrong” who say the youth voters who turned out for Obama in 2008 would stay home this year.
