Hec Edmundson Pavilion is filling up with a crowd that is waiting for the arrival of President Barack Obama.

A line stretches for blocks around the University of Washington campus to see Obama’s rally for Sen. Patty Murray. The audience is flowing into the stands and there’s also a standing room crowd covering a good portion of the basketball court. The court is covered up by carpet, so no scuffing.

Obama won’t be here for a little while. He has a backyard chat to attend, and first he stopped off at a donut shop, according to this pool report:

The president made a surprise visit this a.m. to Top Pot Donuts on 5th Ave near the Westin hotel.

Obama ordered two boxes of donuts. “Who wants a little sample here?” he said, munching on what appeared to be on old fashioned glazed. “You can’t eat these everyday ” he said.

He worked the small crowd inside, and dashed across the street under the monorail to shake hands with a crowd there.

The motorcade zoomed off at 9:35. Now it’s approaching the Ravenna area where he’ll do a backyard chat. Kids lined the street at Nathan Eckstein school to cheer and wave.

    Doesn’t anyone work anymore?
A crowd for Obama on a thursday during work hours? no wonder…

    Top Pot sucks.

  3. tacomaguy30 says:

Wow, he can eat a donut.

Well at least he has one accomplishment under his belt now.

I love how while Michelle’s one and only mission is supposedly to save the youth from the scourge of childhood obesity, Obama is always out eating donuts or Ray’s Hell Burgers, or custard.

    Way to set an example!

“while Michelle’s one and only mission is supposedly to save the youth from the scourge of childhood obesity”

You can’t be serious, when she is photographed from the side it looks like she is towing a travel trailer. She really needs to worry more about what is going through her own pie-hole if ya’ want my opinion.

Actually, here’s a photo in today’s Reuters that proves my point:

aranciata she is fighting childhood obesity. She is not a child. That’s like saying if you drink alcohol then you should allow children to drink it as well.

  7. aranciata says:

It would be more like having someone preaching who is preaching against smoking while chain smoking in front of children.

  8. colsprague says:

Actually, she appears quite fit. If you are talking about her protruding rear end, that’s a body type, frequently associated with people of African American descent. It is not a sign or symptom of obesity.

My oh my, people, are you Obama haters, racists, or both? Shame on each and everyone of you for your hate filled comments! Although I did not think that George W. Bush was a very good President or leader, I did like him as a person and respected the office that he held. Show respect no matter who holds the office of President. It’s not exactly a very easy job!

I had a donut today. Nope, actually I had two!

I was hungry and had been up since an early hour. Donuts work good with coffee while driving.

The President is a human, which is more than can be said for many of the people commenting.
