Mayor uses UWT as metaphor for Murray

The program is starting, with no sign of the vice president. Tacoma Mayor Marilyn Strickland said it is apt that the event is at the UW Tacoma.

“People said she couldn’t do it and people said this campus couldn’t happen,” Strickland said.

Then, with apologies to her male colleagues, Strickland said.

“Washington state is represented by some women who kick some behind,” she said.
