GOP ‘debate': Castillo takes off gloves with Herrera in 3rd

The two top Republican candidates in the 3rd Congressional District took shots at each other Wednesday in a joint meeting before Thurston County’s Mainstream Republican group in Lacey.

The brisk exchange was between Jaime Herrrera, the 18th district state House member from Ridgefield, and David Castillo, a financial adviser and former chief of staff to the state House Republican leader. Both are running for the seat that U.S. Rep. Brian Baird, D-Vancouver, is retiring from after six terms.
