Justin Kover, an advocate for marijuana legalization, filed Wednesday to run as a Democrat against state Rep. Sam Hunt, D-Olympia, in the liberal 22nd Legislative District.

Kover ran unsuccessfully for mayor of Tumwater last year and has spoken out in newspaper columns more recently against government debt and taxes. He could not be reached immediately to comment. Hunt, who has been an advocate for state employee issues in the government-dominated district, is seeking his sixth term.
