Fitzer filed as an independent. Lindquist is a Democrat.

Fitzer has said that there are too many violent criminals in Pierce County and she has plans for a stronger prosecutor’s office to bring them to justice. She also said her legal roots are deep in the county and that she’s “dedicated over three decades to making Pierce County a better place to live.”

Lindquist says this about he and his office on his campaign website: “We are leaders in prosecuting violent gangs, we are holding accountable all the defendants who assisted cop-killer Maurice Clemmons, and we are working to reduce the Superior Court felony backlog to increase access to justice.”
