Ever thought to yourself, “This is a great legislative budget hearing, but I just wish I could take it with me everywhere I go?”

No, of course you haven’t.

Only a few of us policy nerds, and possibly some tech nerds, could possibly be excited about the announcement today that TVW is bringing its gavel-to-gavel coverage of the Legislature and state government to the iPhone.

The network said its new app allows access to its live TV stream, webcasts and archives, all in an effort to help Washingtonians, wherever they are, stay informed about their government and get to sleep earlier. OK, I made that last part up.

If you happen to be reading this post on your iPhone, here’s how to watch TVW. First, pull over. Then go to www.tvw.org. Click the + button at the bottom of the screen, then “Add to Home Screen” to get the app.

I just tried to watch an archived House Transportation Committee meeting, and got an error message. The TV feed worked great, though, showing some scintillating state Supreme Court arguments.
