Republican Dick Muri will take his campaign against U.S. Rep. Adam Smith, D-Tacoma, to the airwaves this afternoon.
Muri, a Pierce County Council member from Steilacoom, will appear on the David Boze show on 770 KTTH after 4 p.m. He’ll discuss health care and other issues.
In a statement announcing his appearance, Muri accused Smith of “blatant disregard of his constituents wishes.”
“… [O]ur country cannot afford the health care bill before congress, we need to focus on reducing expenditures not adding new ones to the already job-killing deficits,” Muri said in the statement.
Update: I just got an e-mail from Shana Chandler of Smith’s re-election campaign. She said Smith is “currently studying the new language that came out today and is still undecided.”

CANDIDATE DICK MURI RECEIVES OVER 300 NEW DONORS WITHIN 12 HOURS
Steilacoom, WA - Dick Muri’s campaign for congress in Washington’s 9th District has received donations from over 300 first time donors within a 12 hour time span yesterday with donations still pouring in this morning. Donations are being brought in by those protesting liberal Congressman Adam Smith’s blatant disregard for his constituents wishes.
Popular conservative radio talk show host, David Boze, on 770 KTTH has been encouraging his listeners both on the air, and on his website www.davidboze.com <http://www.davidboze.com> , to send the liberal congressman a message by sending a $10 donation to Muri’s campaign. The influx of donations, emails, phone calls, and offers to volunteer time to elect Dick Muri shows us that Adam Smith and the democrat majority are wrong on this issue.
“As the weather warms, so will the political campaigns heat up”, said Dick Muri “our country cannot afford the health care bill before congress, we need to focus on reducing expenditures not adding new ones to the already job-killing deficits.” Muri went on to say “Adam Smith is doing an excellent job playing a politician, but we need leadership in congress and that’s why I’m running. I don’t play word games. I would not vote for this bill.”
Dick Muri will be on the David Boze show today after 4:00 PM to discuss health care and other issues facing our nation.
