UPDATED: GOP ‘filibuster’ ended at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday

The House Republicans’ pseudo-filibuster over the bill that makes tax increases temporarily easier to pass in the state Legislature ended late last night.

The House wrapped up its speeches and voting at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, including votes to reject four Republican amendments on ESSB 6130. The vote was 46-52 to reject Republicans’ procedural motion to delay the I-960 suspension vote, and the same vote on the amendments. Nine Democrats crossed over to join the minority in supporting GOP position.

The Democratic Caucus says it plans to begin debate on final passage of the bill at 10 a.m. today. If the final vote is not finished by 1:30 p.m., lawmakers will return at 8 p.m. to finish the job.

Like so much else around the Capitol, my hunch is this is all subject to change.
