This will be of big interest to Pierce County politics watchers. Former County Executive John Ladenburg and his wife, former Tacoma City Councilwoman Connie Ladenburg are setting up shop as a downtown government affairs firm offering “direct lobbying, grassroots lobbying and non-profit advocacy.” Staying with the family theme, they will be affiliated with their sons’ law firm. (No they are not calling it “Ladenburg, Ladenburg, Ladenburg and Ladenburg,” it’s Ladenburg Law: Governmental Affairs.)

The power couple has been out of power after being term-limited from their posts. After an unsuccessful run for state attorney general, speculation was that John might be up for a Obama Administration regional appointment and that Connie might be appointed to a two-year vacancy on the City Council. Most recently, John emerged as COO of the Cascadia mega-development. He’ll continue in that role, according to the release below.

For Immediate Release: February 3, 2010

David Sawyer, one of President Obama’s first 25 staffers in the historic Iowa Caucus and former campaign manager for John Ladenburg for Attorney General will also be joining the firm.
