  1. logicmonster says:

Step 1 – Start the “not qualified” pile with Robert Hill’s application
Step 2 – eliminate opportunists who haven’t been to council meetings or shown a previous interest in public service.
Step 3 – toss application of term limited incumbents
Step 4 – weed out anyone who just lost a campaign in November (Rojecki, Merrit, Tuma)
Step 5 – ask attendees what they plan to _do_ in the office. Anyone that cannot give a clearly articulated agenda goes int he Robert Hill pile

That should give you a list of a workable size.

  2. Please appoint RR Anderson, he is NOT INSANE!

  3. if appointed RR Anderson will:

    – condemn the Tacoma Dome as a hazard to life and liberty
    – fight for your civil libertines
    – make prostitution an alternative lifestyle choice
    – welcome polygamists
    – implement local currency
    – make Mondays a ‘hate crime’
    – force people to change underwear daily
    – complex resolutions will be presented to the people in venn diagram format
    – excommunicate Mayor Baarsma
    – report Tim Eyman to the IRS
    – implement a pay raises to all city council seats

  4. m9078jk3 says:

    Those are lofty goals RR.
    I also endorse RR Anderson.
Mr. Hill I endorse as well but would prefer him as Mayor.
Mayor Hill “Mr. Baarsma you are out of order here at the city council at this public comment forum please stop disrupting the council”

  5. Well, thank you so much for posting all the reasons NOT to consider Anderson. With the exception of reporting Tim Eyeman to the IRS, I think he may qualify as almost as big a nut job as Hill.
One other question. Ryan Mello already serves on the Metro Parks Board as it’s Secretary. Can he serve in two such positions with there not being an eventual conflict of interest or time schedule?
logicmonster, I like your method. Especially Step 5. I think that many of these people are looking for a stroke on their resume.
Put Harold Moss on the Council and then just worry about filling one more position. I wish that Bill Smitherman had submitted his name. He and Moss would have added a great deal to ANY Council.

  6. Could you please translate your site into Italian since I’m not so comfortable reading it in English? I’m getting tired of using Google Translate all the time, there is a cool WordPress plugin called like global translator which will translate all your articles automatically- that will make reading articleson your awesome blog even more enjoyable. Cheers mate, Cortez Tyus!
