Don’t show up at the County-City Buildings the next two Tuesday afternoons and expect to see the Pierce County Council in action. The council will take its show on the road this week and next, part of its regular rotation of meetings held in various council districts.

Tomorrow’s meeting will be at the Franke Tobey Jones Estates Wellness Center in Tacoma. Next week’s meeting will be at the Buckley Multi-Purpose Center in Buckley.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Nov. 25, 2009

The Pierce County Council will be on the road for its first two regular meetings of December.

For Councilmember Tim Farrell’s District 4 meeting, the council will meet Dec. 1 at 5:30 p.m. at Franke Tobey Jones Estates Wellness Center in Tacoma. The address is 5340 N. Bristol (on the corner of North Parkway and North Vassault Streets) near the entrance to Point Defiance Park.

The following week, the council’s District 1 meeting will be Dec. 8 at 5 p.m. at the Buckley Multi-Purpose Center (811 Main St.), hosted by Councilmember Shawn Bunney. Visit www.piercecountywa.gov/council <http://www.piercecountywa.gov/council> for meeting agendas and more information.

Council rules call for at least one meeting a year to be held in each of the seven council districts. Both meetings are in lieu of the regular 3 p.m. Tuesday council meeting in the Council Chambers (930 Tacoma Ave. S., Room 1045) in Tacoma.

District 4 includes north and central Tacoma, a portion of South Tacoma, and Ruston; District 1 consists of eastern and southern Pierce County including Buckley, Wilkeson, Carbonado, Bonney Lake, Sumner, Edgewood, Milton, South Prairie, Orting, and eastern Graham.

Both meetings will be replayed a few days later on Pierce County TV channel 22 because they require the use of mobile broadcast equipment. They also will be archived at www.piercecountytv.org <http://www.piercecountytv.org> .
