Gig Harbor’s Derek Young to Tim Eyman: I did better with voters than I-1033

Back in the summer, Gig Harbor Councilman Derek Young and Initiative 1033 sponsor Tim Eyman had a debate of sorts in the comment section of Political Buzz. In the course of that exchange, Young challenged Eyman to a debate in Gig Harbor.

The debate never happened but the election did. Young sent a pre-Thanksgiving note to Eyman with the results:

Hi Tim,
Promised a while back I’d send you the results for 1033 in Gig Harbor after they came out. Apparently Pierce County is a little slow publishing the precinct results.
Anyway, 1033 failed here in GH 47.8-52.1%. Also thought you’d also like to know I won my re-election, 65.8-33.9%.

Happy Turkey Day!

Derek M. Young

    More useless information.

  2. toolkitty says:

Interesting. Because the polls I looked at revealed 99.9 percent have no idea who Derek Young is. And a staggering 100 percent don’t care.

toolkitty might have actually overestimated my name ID.

    Too funny, tool…, well said.
