R-71 opponents still hopeful

Brad Shannon over at our sister paper, The Olympian, has been doing a great job following Referendum 71. Overnight he heard back from local R-71 opposition leader, who are not conceding despite the vote trend.

"Seeing the manifold Hand of God on our behalf time and time again, we cannot help but remain strong in faith that our Lord will see us through again," wrote co-Pastor Valerie Hartwell of the Rivers of Glory Christian Church in Lacey.

Read Brad's blog post here.

As of 1 p.m., the latest vote tally still had the measure passing 51.68 percent
to 48.32 percent. (When it's this close, you want to use two decimal places.)

Valerie Hartwell should be happy this is passing. as it seems with all the problems, we (gays) will unleash the destruction of the world. if you had your best interest in mind when voting you would have voted For ref 71. that way you would be doing Gods handiwork and ushering in the events that will lead to your "rapture" then you will go away. leaving your earth, and go to heaven. sitting in praise of your friend. praise Jesus indeed!

For the rest of the state of Washington. thank you so much for your intelligence to vote with your head. and not falling victim to another scare tactic that ref 71 is going to teach your children to be gay. or worse ruin marriage for everybody.

we pay taxes like everyone else and finally it is coming to be a possibility that there is equality. Rev, Hartwell if you only knew, you too should be thankful you are allowed to vote. Susan B Anthony the great suffragette and lesbian paved the way for you to be able to vote. please on the way out, thank the gays you get to vote against them!
