GOP gains a seat in Washington state House

Thanks to James King, Jr. for finding this one.

Of three special legislative races this year, one was of most interest because it was to replace longtime state Rep. Bill Grant. Grant was not just a leader of the House Democratic caucus but the only Democrat from Eastern Washington outside of downtown Spokane.

That seat went to the Republicans tonight. Grant’s daughter Laura lost to Republican Terry Nealey.

The other two seats went to Republicans as well but they were already in GOP hands.

Here’s a link to the chart.
