Anti-tax protesters will rally at the Puyallup fairgrounds today, as the Tea Party Express rolls into town. The bus is stopping here as part of a cross-country tour of the United States, which started this week in California and will wind up Nov. 12 in Florida. The ominous sounding “Countdown toe Judgment Day” tour is in anticipation of next year’s election.

The event starts at 6 p.m. and will feature a speech by KVI talk show host Kirby Wilber and music from three bands. Communications Director Levi Russell didn’t have an exact location of where the rally is taking place other than the Puyallup Fair & Events Center, so if anyone knows, please let us know.

Russell said the events have been attracting crowds of 500 so far, mostly in smaller towns.

Will they be distributing green or wintergreen tea?

A shame that he has so much time on his hands.

  3. This is in the Expo Hall at the Fairgrounds….just info.

These peoplare not “anti-tax”. They are anti-Obama. If they were anti-tax we would have heard from them during the Bush Adminstration’s eight year spending blitz.

Aside from wrongfully claiming the name of a truely patriotic act in American History, they are a rag tag bunch of birthers and Beckians trying to push the Republican party further to the right. Just look at what the are doing in the House race of the 23rd disctrict of New York!

  5. Just came back from attending the Tea Party Rally. It was GREAT!!! The Expo center was filled to over-flowing and spilled out into the court yard outside the center. Several thousand, at least. Conservatism is alive and well, and the liberals can “eat cake!” Most were predicting a whole bunch of ‘no-shows’. They should have been there. America, at her best!!!

I was at the Tea Party Express event and came away with hope that we will see change we can really trust in 2010 with a big change in our administration. Here is a video of the event at my youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2AwOZlOB4Y

Your first few words in the column is it is a Anti-Tax protest, it is not! We are protesting out of control spending by the administration. We were promised transparentacy and will reach across the aisle, but then they lock the door and won’t let the other side of the aisle have any say soon the healh plan. Too many Czars that are not held to account for their action’ I think it was went to about 37 !!!! We want Capitolism not Socialism. If the health care proposal is so great give it to all of the administration incl. Obama. Change was going to come all right, it’s the change going out of your pocket into the pocket of the White House. We will vote politicans out if you support this bill.

  8. You are protesting “out of control spending by the administration’ and not letting the other side have a say on Health Care”.
Where were all your protests when the Bush administration was spending billions per month and hundreds of American lives on the war in Iraq? Where were your protests when the Republican Party never even spoke up on Health Care until President Obama made it issue #1?
Barack Obama has been in office less than a year and you complain of his spending, yet when Bush had the reigns, the market crashed, banks failed, people started losing jobs and homes and you sat silently by, quiet, speechless, not saying a word. Do us all a favor. Go back to that mode of operation. Sit down, shut up and let the President clean up the mess that YOU and YOUR PARTY made.
Support Health care for those that need it and can’t afford it. Pay for it by eliminating all the tax cuts that King George II gave to his rich friends, oil barons and Corporate Farmers..

  9. This event was terrific.

  11. I attended the rally also. I thought it was great.

Those that claim that this is coporate sponsored are very badly mis-informed.
