On Friday, Tacoma mayoral candidates Jim Merritt and Marilyn Strickland will discuss “urban issues facing Tacoma” during a moderated forum at the UW-Tacoma.
The forum, hosted by the student organization, CIVITAS, will provide the public an opportunity to ask questions of the candidates.

Philip Hall’s Milgard Assembly RoomThe candidates for the office of Tacoma’s Mayor will discuss questions posed by the public and CIVITAS, a University of Washington Tacoma student run organization, about urban issues facing Tacoma. Dr. Mark Pendras, Assistant Professor at the University of Washington, Tacoma will moderate the event. The forum’s direction will largely be determined by the public’s questions. CIVITAS will intermittently pose questions to the mayoral candidates concerning education, land-use, transportation, and other urban issues. There is no charge for this event.
