The Pierce County Council begins budget deliberations this week with a budget retreat on Wednesday.
County Executive Pat McCarthy recently unveiled a proposed $792 million 2010 budget that cuts staffing, reduces park services, raises planning department fees and generally scrimps to balance spending with significantly reduced revenue.
But the council will have the final say and likely will make significant changes to McCarthy’s plan.
Below is a revised schedule of the council’s upcoming budget hearings. All meetings will be held in Room 1045 of the County City Building, 930 Tacoma Ave. S.
