Ship In Bottle

Michael King, 7, of Gig Harbor works on his ship in a Ships in Bottles class taught by instructor Jeff Simmons in Tacoma. The class is a summer activity for the Foss Waterway Seaport’s “Whoopee! Maureen’s Moment


With a nagging injury under control, Gig Harbor distance runner Maureen Tremblay has her sights set on a big splash at the State Track & Field Championship at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma. This spring, Maureen became the fourth girl in Washington, regardless of classification, to break the five-minute barrier to capture the 4A Bi-District 1600 meters title.
