		<description><![CDATA[<p><em>This editorial will appear in Thursday&#8217;s print edition.</em></p> <p>There&#8217;s no safer bet in this year&#8217;s election than on a Democrat winning in two Tacoma-area districts, the 27th and 29th.</p> <p>For one thing, no Republicans will be on the ballot in two of the four races to be determined Nov. 6. And in the two races that <em>do</em> include a GOP candidate, the Republicans&#8217; chances of prevailing in these majority Democratic districts are slim.</p> <p>Of Washington&#8217;s 49 legislative districts, the 27th &#8211; which includes Tacoma&#8217;s North End &#8211; is the seventh most Democratic-leaning. 		<description><![CDATA[<p><em>This editorial will appear in Monday&#8217;s print edition.<br /> </em><br /> Three candidates with strong name recognition have the upper hand headed into the November elections for 29th Legislative District seats.</p> <p>They also have our endorsement.</p> <p>Longtime Democratic lawmakers Steve Kirby and Steve Conway want to return to the Legislature, with Conway wanting to trade up to a seat in the Senate. </p> <p>Kirby, a former Tacoma City Councilman, is running for his sixth term in the state House.
