Randy McCarthy from our newsroom thinks the new pope, Francis, has a doppelganger – British actor Jonathan Pryce. The actor is probably best known for starring in “Brazil” and as a Bond villain in “Tomorrow Never Dies.”

I see the resemblance, although the pope seems to have a few pounds on Pryce. (If you’re not seeing the photo of Pryce, click on the headline.)

Randy’s wife, former TNT reporter Lisa Kremer, found this appropriate-in-hindsight quote from “Tomorrow Never Dies” by Pryce’s character, Eliot Carver:

Soon I’ll have reached out to and influenced more people than anybody in the history of this planet, save God himself. And the best he ever managed was the Sermon on the Mount.
