Kathi Goertzen

I was sorry to learn today that Kathi Goertzen has died. KOMO TV announced her death earlier today on its website. She had worked at the Seattle station for three decades, and had very bravely shared her 12-year battle with brain cancer with viewers – even after it began paralyzing her face.

I met her briefly at some media event before her illness was known. She seemed very nice, even a little shy, which surprised me. I guess I had a stereotype in my mind of TV people, and she didn’t fit it.

Condolences to her family and colleagues.

Such wonderful lady- so sad that she passed, but I know she’s in Heaven, completely whole and healthy!
