Rush was absoutly wrong and he would have know it if some of those that are now so offended had spoken up when, during the 2008 election Ed Schultz said on his radio show that Sarah Palin set off a “bimbo alert.” He called Laura Ingraham a “right-wing slut.” (He later apologized.) He once even took to his blog to call Kristin Powers a “bimbo” for the offense of quoting him accurately in a New York Post column.

Keith Olbermann has said that conservative commentator S.E. Cupp should have been aborted by her parents, apparently because he finds her having opinions offensive. He called Michelle Malkin a “mashed-up bag of meat with lipstick.” He found it newsworthy to discuss Carrie Prejean’s breasts on his MSNBC show...

The grand pooh-bah of media misogyny is without a doubt Bill Maher.
Left-wing darling Matt Taibbi wrote on his blog in 2009, “When I read [Malkin’s] stuff, I imagine her narrating her text, book-on-tape style, with a big, hairy set of balls in her mouth.”

Did you hear Rush's latest "apology"? He claimed he stooped to the level of the left. I don't know of anyone who came close to Rush for vile invective towards a private citizen, but even if he could cite one, how does that mitage his inexcusable rant against Sandra Fluke?

The stench of this whole thing still lies at the feet of the Republican leadership and their presidential candidates who did not condemn Rush outright when he first uttered those offensive words. But then, they are scared to death of Rush and what he would do to them if they dared offend his "sensibilities". Pathetic.

The silence from the right is deafening. Mr. Limbaugh with his "apology" still represents the worst of American discourse. His claim that he was trying to be funny is just absurd. There was nothing humorous about saying he wanted Ms. Fluke to post her sex videos for him to watch. The degree of ugliness is stunning and I am truly ashamed of Republicans for standing on the sidelines and allowing one of their own to talk in such a coarse and demeaning way. Unlike male voters, women have long, long memories and I will remember how this was handled by those who claim they are fit to lead this country........In my judgement, they are not. If they can't handle Mr. Limbaugh, Putin and others in the international arena will chew them up and spit them out. Matters of strength and integrity count----never forget that!
