I too would like to see it saved but have to agree that raising the millions of dollars in these economic times will be difficult if not impossible.
I’m not aware of the process, but couldn’t there be a way to at least place it on land so it doesn’t present a danger to Tacoma’s waterway?? I’m thinking that it could be easier to display to public which might help generate more interest (and funds); it would certainly look better than where it presently sits – - against a muddy shore, looking like it’s about ready to sink. As for contamination, I thought all of that was removed before it was towed from Alaska.
