Why Republican men are happier

This, from one of our readers, is unfair, rude, savagely partisan, callow, sexist, superficial, a cheap shot, contrary to the spirit of democracy, probably immoral. But, I’m sorry, very funny.

(Hit “more” for the punchline.)

Lest anyone misconstrue my own position, I think Michelle Obama is hands down the hottest first lady in American history.

If any Dems send me a montage as slick as the above, I’ll post it, too. How about a “Why Democratic men are so happy.” For gender balance, how about “Why Republican women are so happy” and “Why Democratic women are so happy.”

(You may want to leave John Edwards out of the last one. Bill Clinton, too.)

Oh, Patrick, Mrs. Obama is a real bow-wow. That Black Widow/Red Hourglass dress she wore shall be forever burned into my mind, haunting my sleepless nights for years to come.

    Patrick,
While I do realize you posted these pictures because our society finds it humorous when people are unattractive and the idea that this some way contributes to their political persuasion is absolutely ludicrous, I, as an eighteen year old girl attending university find it nothing of the sort. Because of the pressure society puts on me and all women to be beautiful and the lengths I go to to fulfill these societal pressures, may it be waxing my eyebrows, highlighting my hair, or running for an hour everyday to stay in the realm of perfections, it was not a wise decision to post this. While, I also agree that Michelle Obama is a foxy lady I think that what makes her so attractive is her heart and her mind. I think that anyone of her stature with such poise, elegance, and intelligence is remarkable and despite which side of the aisle they are on, they should be recognized for the hard work and dedication it took to get there. Now, not only did posting these photos portray how immature and shallow men of all ages and intellectual standing are, it also shed light on something I think is very important. That, no matter your qualifications, if you are not blond, tan, and beautiful you must be a liberal, feminist, hag. Monica Crowley, who got her PhD at Columbia University, attacks Hillary Clinton, who graduated from Yale Law, was a senator for New York Sate, and our country’s 67th Secretary of State, for her “cackle” and refers to her as President Obama’s “white wife”. Now, Monica may be intelligent and it is an understatement to say she is good looking but the ugliness of hatred surpasses any physical appearance. The attack on a human being without any precursor is exactly what is wrong with the segregation of our two political parties. If the idea of a joke is to portray women as only objects for men to look at (the reason why republican men are happier) or to say that liberal women are all unattractive because of their progressive ideologies then I believe by posting this on your blog is not only complying to all of the stereotypes above but actively encouraging them. As a progressive women, it is institutions like your own that keeps the gender stereotype alive. Thank you, Kate Irwin

I think collegestudent12 should examine the politicial affiliation of those who do the most to stereotype and exploit women.

Hollywood, the porn industry, etc, do more to exploit women on a continual basis for financial gain than any other institution I know. And, they are collectively liberal and/or progressive politicially.

Maybe clean up your own institutions and/or house first?

It was just humor and no big deal.

  7. Amen collegestudent12!!! geeterpontiac: It doesn’t matter which party does what. It’s this kind of humor that adds to the pressure to be beautiful. No one wants to be that guy/girl, but most of us are.
Speaking of party politics…what ever happened to “we the people”?
