  1. Change happens, unfortunately the way our current labor market works one’s top opportunities are when young – and staying with the same organization for a long time.

    There are a few exceptions to this rule, there should be more.

    There is a stigma associated with being a job seeker that hurts everyone – changing jobs every 5 years or so should be a good thing – finding the best match for the individual. Organizations need to be more flexible to do this – and open to positive relationships with their community.

    That does raise the risk of that openness being manipulated, but that’s a risk worth taking, and expenses of mitigating worth making.

    The first place to start with this is in the public sector – certainly getting rid of the old, dead, wood in Government would be the quickest way to envigorate that large organization – and balance it’s budget.
