Shannon Bahrke won her fifth national moguls title while Holt Haga of Boise won his first today at the U.S. Freestyle Championships in Vermont.
Olympic mogul master Jeremy Bloom says he’s healed and focused on trying to make the Philadelphia Eagles. Bloom was drafted by the Eagles but missed last season with a hamstring injury.
His comments today, released by U.S. Ski Team.
His comments:
“It’s a different world…very different,” Bloom said in the release. “… I’m fine – totally healthy.”

Team USA just lost to Scotland for the second time to end their run at the Women’s World Curling Championships in Scotland. Debbie McCormick’s team gave up a four-point steal in the 11-5 loss. Scotland plays the loser of the Canada-Denmark game for the right to play in the championship game.
Jen Hudak of Utah defended her halfpipe national championship today at Killington Resort in Vermont on the first day of the U.S. Freestyle Championships.
David Wise of Reno won the men’s title.

The Associated Press reported today that Los Angeles might lose the 2009 Figure Skating World Championships because of a television conflict.
The 2009 event is particularly important because it will determine how many spots nations get for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.
“At this very moment we are indeed concerned, as it is not
clear whether there will be adequate TV coverage in the United
States,” IOC president Ottavio Cinquanta told the AP.
The IOC’s contract with ESPN in the United States expires in 2008. Hungary and Finland bid against L.A. for the ’09
IOC president Jacques Rogge told a French newspaper Monday he is proposing a youth Olympics where about 3,500 teenagers would compete in Olympic sports starting in 2010.
The IOC will consider the proposal during its April 25-27 meeting in Beijing.

Libby Ludlow of Crystal Mountain won the Giant Slalom to finish up the NorAm racing season. The win came at Panorama in eastern British Columbia. Tim Kelley of Vermont won the men’s finals race – the slalom – by nearly half a second.
