Today’s Washington contracts:

This is a design/build project for company operations facilities supporting the Brigade Combat Team Complex Increments 3 and 4 at Fort Lewis, Wash. Camelbak Products LLC., Petaluma, Calif., was awarded on Sept. 16, 2009 a $5,966,953 firm-fixed-price research and development contract. This project consists of 77,979 pairs of United States Marine Corp flame resistant organizational gear flyer’s gloves. A $20 million expansion

That’s sustainability

Today’s local contracts:

Sustainable Oils, LLC, Seattle, Wash., is being awarded a maximum $6,680,000 firm fixed price, indefinite delivery and indefinite quantity contract for fuel.  Other location of performance is in Texas.  Using service is Air Force.  There were originally 211 proposals solicited with seven responses.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The date of performance completion is Oct. 30, 2010.  The contracting activity is the Defense Energy Support Center, Fort Belvoir, Va.

The Pentagon is makin’ it rain

The Department of Defense sends out a bulletin each afternoon with the contracts it awarded that day. We’re talking defense bucks, so the figures get much, much larger than anything most people will ever see.

Yesterday’s e-mail included three contracts involving Washington. So it seems like as good of a time as any to try to kick off what will hopefully become a regular feature here at FOB Tacoma: Anytime a Washington business is listed or the work will take place in Washington, we’ll post it.
