Chase is opening a home ownership center in Lakewood this week to help service members and veterans avoid foreclosure. It’s one of six such centers the bank aims to open this year near major military installations.

Chase’s is aiming to cut some of the red tape that keeps people from losing their homes by putting them in front of a person who can answer their questions. Spokeswoman Darcy Donahoe-Wilmot said the Lakewood center will be open to all residents, but it will be staffed with employees who have military experience.

“They understand firsthand the needs of military personnel,” said Phyllis Campbell, JPMorgan Chase Chairman of the Pacific Northwest.

The bank is hosting an open house Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the new center, located at 6020 Main Street, Suite C in Lakewood. It is to be open six days a week, and it can be reached at 253.582.2351.

Here’s a story from the Fayetteville Observer on a similar effort Chase opened outside of Fort Bragg.

  1. I call on Obama for immediate drone strikes on all JBMorgan Chase holdings through out the land. Do not surrender your house! #occupytacoma
