Street closure near Fort Lewis

Fort Lewis will close a 900-foot section of 150th Street SW tomorrow for repair and resurfacing.

The street is used for commuter traffic from Interstate 5 to Spanaway. It runs outside the Fort Lewis cantonment area and connects with Perimeter Road, which runs between the post and McChord Air Force Base.

It is expected to reopen Nov. 21. The Fort Lewis and McChord gates near the street will remain open.

The street “is the property of Fort Lewis and must be closed during the construction period because the road is too narrow to keep one lane open and safely do the work while traffic passes in the opposite lane,” the post’s public affairs office said in a press release.
