Here comes the Mariners cavalry

Scoring no runs on four hits in 18 innings will make a team look for reinforcements, and the Seattle Mariners got a few today – activating Adrian Beltre from the disabled list and bringing first baseman Mike Carp up from Tacoma.

The Mariners also added left-handed pitcher Jason Vargas to their expanded roster, and all will be available for tonight’s game with the Los Angeles Angels.

Ichiro Suzuki is expected to play for the first time in nine days, and Ken Griffey Jr. – sidelined all weekend by an inflamed left knee – may start at designated hitter.
