We know Olivo's strengths and weaknesses, we've heard conflicting reports on what Moreno will bring behind the plate...there's an opening here for Moore or Jaso to prove himself an all-around catcher. I guess I'd be happy if Moreno turns out to be a Mike Piazza type catcher, but I'd want a Brad Ausmus type to back him up. I watched a lot of the Arizona Fall League and he looked absolutely horrid at the plate for about the first 3 weeks. I partially blamed it on the fact that he hadn't played in awhile and needed to knock the rust off...over the last 2-3 weeks of the season he resembled the player that I watched at AAA...an assertive bat that can hit to all fields and an adequate glove behind the plate. I hope he has a great spring training...depth at any position, but especially catcher, is good for an organization.
