Want to get an early in-person look at the Mariners’ new $240 million man?
Here’s your chance.
Second baseman Robinson Cano, who signed a 10-year deal in December, headlines the list of players and club officials tentatively scheduled to take part in the club’s annual FanFest, which is Jan. 25-26 at Safeco Field.
The Mariners’ two new first baseman/DHs, Corey Hart and Logan Morrison, are also scheduled to appear, along with new manager Lloyd McClendon. Others planning to attend include catcher Mike Zunino, shortstop Brad Miller, outfielder Michael Saunders and pitchers Tom Wilhelmsen, James Paxton and Taijuan Walker.
Some of the club’s top minor-league players also are slated to appear, including infielders Chris Taylor and D.J. Peterson, outfielder Stefen Romero and reliever Carson Smith.
The FanFest runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Tickets are available at www.mariners.com and at Mariners Team Stores. They will be available at Safeco during the two days of the event. The cost is $10 for adults, while those 14 and under get in free. Parking is available at the Safeco Field garage for $5 in advance and $10 at the gate.
Planned highlights include:
*Autograph opportunities and dugout talks with players, coaches and front-office personnel.
*Tours of the Mariners’ clubhouse.
*The chance to hit against a simulated Felix Hernandez fastball in the visitors’ clubhouse batting cage and the chance to throw a pitch in the Mariners’ bullpen.
*Riding the Safeco Field Zip Line.
*Carnival games in the Kids Fun Zone.
