Spin, spin, spin (doctors) like a top. Now that is good marketing!

  2. Dude, it’s an information we guide to use for postseason information. This is released every year regardless of record. I’m sharing it with you because I think there is some good stuff in there.

  3. Quinault says:

There is! I pick one up every time I come to the game. The entire baseball season was saved because Raul tied a MLB record for HR’s by a 41 year old.

Baseball is a game of numbers and there is lots to pour over here. In fact, I might have to pour me another one.

I have given these fact sheets away as Christmas presents. The whole season on several pages.

Maybe one last comment: Chone Figgins gave us Kyle Seager. Chone was brought in to be the 3B / outfielder / speed catalyst / game changer. He failed miserably. Who knew? Anyway, on the depth chart Kyle was the 2nd utility infielder behind Mune Kawasaki. Given the outfield situation (injury), Chone went to the outfield, Kyle stepped in, Mune pitch ran and the rest is history.

Now with Chone’s money coming off the books, I wonder who he will give us next season? Maybe our reclamation project [like so many in the past] will be Guti for just above league minimum, after a buy-out. [No way should we pick up his option.] When healthy, he is dynamic. I won’t even speculate about a free agent signing. We will have money heading into the winter meetings.

    Final 2013 Mariner analysis
    Record Winning %
    Quarter pole: 19-21 11-9 @ home .475
    Mid-way: 35-45 21-20 @ home .4375
    All Star Break 43-52 25-25 @ home .4526
    ¾ pole: 55-65 31-32 @ home .4583
    Finish line 71-91 36-45 @ home .4383

Wedge gone – on to greener pastures per Lincoln (or before his late season collapse could be evaluated and him terminated). Hultzen having surgery. Morse gone. Ryan gone. Montero suspended for steroids. Bay gone. Andino gone. Harang gone. Pryor gone for the season. Morales free agent. Raul tied for most homeruns by a 41 year old, free agent. Shoppach gone. Wilmelmsen a huge question mark. Guti with a club option for 2014. Gardenhire not an option.

On the plus side: money coming off the books and another high draft position awaiting us. The development of the Root Sports / Regional Sports Network should bring in money for the coffers too. How well it is spent is the off-season speculation discussion. Zunino, Miller and Franklin looked rushed, but have the tools to contribute for years to come.
